Isco proud of Spain cap

Isco says that winning his first cap for Spain on Wednesday was a "great experience".

Malaga starlet Isco has spoken of his pride at winning his first cap for Spain.

The 20-year-old, who is one of Europe's most highly-rated youngsters, appeared as a second-half substitute in the 3-1 win over Uruguay.

Despite breaking into the senior team, Isco said that he is under no illusions with regards to his international future, and has vowed to keep working hard in La Liga.

"I have had a great experience," Football Espana quotes Isco as saying. "I'm so happy I could share a dressing room with great players and I debuted with the best team in the world, also whilst representing the team of my city.

"I'm young, I have a lot to improve, I have just begun in football and hopefully this debut will not be my only appearance.

"I'm an Under-21 player, I have my feet on the ground and will welcome whatever comes. Perhaps my position is the most difficult of all because there is a lot of competition, but I will continue to work for the opportunities."

Atletico Madrid midfielder Mario Suarez also made his debut in Doha.
