Malaga and Real Zaragoza share two goals and the spoils at La Rosaleda.

Malaga and Real Zaragoza played out a 1-1 draw at La Rosaleda this afternoon.

After an even start the deadlock was broken in the 13th minute by the visitors. Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Helder Postiga was the goalscorer as he headed in a corner from Jose Fernandez.

However, just 10 minutes later Malaga restored parity. Javier Paredes was adjudged to have handled the ball inside the area and youngster Isco stepped up to convert the resultant penalty.

Apono went close for Zaragoza after the restart, but his free kick from 25 yards out landed on the roof of the net.

As the match drew to a close, hosting Malaga began to exert a large amount of pressure and created two chances inside the area, but on both occasions former Barcelona striker Javier Saviola missed the target.

Deep into stoppage time Zaragoza were reduced to 10 men when Jose Mari was handed a second yellow card.
