Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen "out for a while" with shoulder injury

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp reveals that midfielder Joe Allen will be out "for a while" with a shoulder problem.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed that midfielder Joe Allen will be out of action "for a while" after suffering a shoulder injury.

The Wales international has been in impressive form of late but was not included in the matchday squad for Tuesday's 2-1 defeat to West Ham United in their FA Cup fourth-round replay at Upton Park.

"Joe Allen is unfortunately out for a while," Klopp told reporters in Friday's press conference. "He was in a really good way, we tried to manage time after injury when I came, but then he gets a little knock on the shoulder. We have to wait a little bit for him."

Klopp also confirmed that defender Dejan Lovren will not be available for Sunday's Premier League match against Aston Villa, while his fellow centre-back Martin Skrtel has returned to training but "needs time" before he returns to action.
