Mario Balotelli tells his critics to "support another country" when Italy contest the Confederations Cup after he received criticism for a red card against Czech Republic.

Mario Balotelli has hit back at reporters after coming in for criticism following his red card for Italy in Prague last night.

The AC Milan striker received two yellow cards in the space of four minutes as the Azzurri drew 0-0 with the Czech Republic in World Cup qualifying.

Upon leaving the dressing room, the 22-year-old was confronted by the press, who asked him about his sending-off.

"Was it a red card? You watch the footage back and tell me," Football Italia quotes Balotelli as saying.

He was also subjected to insults over Twitter, to which he responded: "Write what you want, but at the Confederations Cup you can support another country and I tell you that from the HEART."

Italy top Group B by four points.
