Srdjan Lakic scores twice for Eintracht Frankfurt as they defeat Hamburg 2-0 away from home in the Bundesliga.

Eintracht Frankfurt have maintained their chances of a top-four finish in the Bundesliga this season with a 2-0 away win against Hamburg.

The visitors were in control of the match right from the start and made the breakthrough midway through the first half when Srdjan Lakic latched on to Stefan Aigner's pass and shot home from close range.

Lakic scored his second goal of the evening in the 36th minute, heading in Aigner's cross from just yards out.

Lakic came close to completing his hat-trick on the stroke of half time when his header from the centre of the box went wide.

Alexander Meier was unlucky not to etch his name on the scoresheet when he hit the post from outside the Hamburg penalty box on 49 minutes.

Hamburg created a number of chances to launch a comeback during the second half, but failed to find the target.

The result leaves Frankfurt in fourth spot, while Hamburg lie seventh in the league standings.
