Jack Butland still wants to go to the Olympics with Team GB even after his shock call from Roy Hodgson.

Jack Butland has said that he is still hopeful of representing Team GB at this summer's Olympics despite replacing John Ruddy in England's squad for Euro 2012.

The Birmingham City keeper said that he is "over the moon" to be given the chance to represent his country in Poland and Ukraine.

It has previously been stated by the FA that anyone who plays in the Euros will not be eligible to play in London.

However, Butland has retained hope of getting the call from Stuart Pearce as he is likely to be Roy Hodgson's third-choice keeper.

"I'm over the moon," said Butland. "It still hasn't sunk in and I can't explain how much this means to me. It's always been a dream of mine to play for my country, and this is another step.

"I cannot wait to join up with the squad, start training and gaining some fantastic experience, but I also know the Olympics will be an incredible tournament and an experience that may not come around in Olympic form or international form again in England.

"If there's a chance of still being able to go, I would grasp the opportunity with both hands."

The 19-year-old has played six times for the England Under-21s side.
