Jose Mourinho: 'Roman Abramovich trusts me to resolve Chelsea's troubles'

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is confident that he still has the trust of owner Roman Abramovich despite the Blues' torrid start to the season.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has revealed that he is confident that he has the trust of owner Roman Abramovich despite the club's struggles this season.

The Blues have endured a torrid start to the Premier League campaign, losing seven of their opening 12 matches, which currently sees them reside in 16th place in the table.

Mourinho has been put under growing pressure in his role, despite the club's title win last season along with signing a four-year contract extension in August.

However, the Portuguese remains upbeat that he has the backing of Abramovich to get through the difficult period.

He told reporters: "Nobody gives a four-year contract to a manager if they don't trust the person. Nobody gives new contracts to players, as we have in the last couple of months, if we don't trust the players.

"There is trust and there are reasons for that trust. The power is with the board and they have shown to me and the players that they trust us.

"It's time for us to give a positive answer. I think we are doing this but not in the results."

Chelsea face Norwich City in their Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge later today.
