Chelsea midfielder Juan Mata has said that he is pleased with his side's performance against Steaua Bucuresti in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Jose Mourinho's team registered their first points in Group E with a 4-0 victory over their Romanian hosts.

"This is what Chelsea needed," BBC Sport quotes him as saying. "The first game against Basel was a painful defeat. We showed we wanted to win. We played really well.

"It was enough to win. It will now give us confidence. The team played very well and were solid. I just have to keep going - I'm training well. I have to do my best after every training session and game."
