Russell Slade adamant Cardiff City deserved a draw from Wolverhampton Wanderers

Cardiff City manager Russell Slade claims that they deserved something from their 1-0 defeat to Wolves.

Cardiff City manager Russell Slade believes that his side deserved more than they got after they lost 1-0 to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Bakary Sako scored the only goal of the game in which Peter Whittingham received a red card for a poor challenge on Matt Doherty, but Slade thinks going down to 10 men actually galvanised his team.

He told Cardiff's official website: "I thought we deserved something. We'll have to do some work picking the changing room up after that. I thought we started well, but probably lost our way for ten minutes when they got their goal. It was a poor goal to concede, because we had possession in their half, and an opportunity to clear it as well.

"It was obviously frustrating to lose Whitts, but it seemed to galvanise us. There were a couple of clearances off the line that might on another day have gone in. We certainly looked like a side that were going to get a goal, and I feel for the team that that didn't come, because I thought they put in a really good shift."

Cardiff next face Rotherham United on Tuesday.
