Brighton beat Leicester City 1-0 as both sides have players sent off.

Brighton & Hove Albion hit a late winner to earn a 1-0 win in an even game against Leicester City at the Amex Stadium this afternoon.

Leicester started the stronger of the two, with Neil Danns playing a key role in the away side's attacks.

Paul Konchesky got a shot away, but Peter Brezovan had it covered well. Will Buckley hit a shot over for Brighton on 18 minutes in a fairly uneventful first 30 minutes.

Leicester just had the edge over the home side, with Jermaine Beckford causing problems for Brighton's back line with his movement. The Leicester striker saw his shot saved on 43 minutes, as he looked most likely to change the scoreline.

The second half began very evenly as both sides tried to gain control of the game. Brighton were given an advantage on 53 minutes when Beckford was given a straight red for violent conduct after a challenge on Lewis Dunk.

Sam Vokes put Buckley through on goal but the forward hit his shot straight at Kasper Schmeichel before missing the target with his second attempt.

The referee then evened up the sides after sending off Matthew Sparrow for a reckless lunge on Ben Marshall.

Brighton grabbed themselves a late winner with a goal from Buckley, who had threatened all afternoon.

Danns was sent off just before the final whistle to leave Leicester with nine men.

The game finished 1-0 and it is Brighton who take the three points.
