How Borussia Dortmund could line up against Bayern Munich

Sports Mole looks at how Borussia Dortmund could line up in Tuesday's Bundesliga clash with Bayern Munich.

Borussia Dortmund will be looking for their seventh straight Bundesliga victory when they welcome Bayern Munich to Signal Iduna Park on Tuesday night.

BVB have beaten Schalke 04 and Wolfsburg in their two matches since Germany's top flight resumed earlier this month and will be eyeing another huge three points in this match.

Lucien Favre's side are currently second in the table, four points behind Bayern, who have also been victorious in their last six league matches.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how the home side could line up on Tuesday night.

POSS DOR XI vs. BAY

Out: Nico Schulz (muscle), Dan-Axel Zagadou (knee), Marco Reus (muscle)
Doubtful: Axel Witsel (muscle), Mats Hummels (achilles)

Dortmund are sweating on the fitness of central defender Mats Hummels, who picked up an achilles problem during Saturday's 2-0 win over Wolfsburg, which led to him being replaced at the interval.

The German is thought to be winning the race to be fit against his former club, though, which would be a huge boost for Favre's side as they prepare to face the reigning champions.

Axel Witsel remains a doubt with a muscular problem, while Nico Schulz, Dan-Axel Zagadou and Marco Reus are still on the sidelines for BVB.

Emre Can made his return from injury off the bench against Wolfsburg and could now come into the XI, while Jadon Sancho will also be hoping for a spot in the side.

The England international has come off the bench in Dortmund's last two matches but is being tipped to return to the attack alongside Erling Braut Haaland and Thorgan Hazard.

There could be a change of role for Julian Brandt if Sancho does indeed make the XI, meaning that both Thomas Delaney and Mahmoud Dahoud might lose their starting spots.

Favre is unlikely to shuffle his pack in defence, though, with wing-backs Achraf Hakimi and Raphael Guerreiro both in outstanding form since the Bundesliga resumed earlier this month.
