Barcelona are unable to register the signings of Sergio Aguero, Memphis Depay and Eric Garcia until they first offload other players, according to a report.

Barcelona have reportedly been blocked from registering any of their new signings as they have exceeded the La Liga salary cap.

The Catalan giants' financial issues have been well documented over the past six months, with debts of around €1.2bn (£1bn) allegedly outstanding.

That has forced Barca to focus on bringing in free agents, having already got deals over the line for Sergio Aguero, Memphis Depay and Eric Garcia.

However, Goal reports that the trio of new arrivals are not yet officially Barcelona players as they must first get others off their books to ensure that they do not breach salary rules.

It was claimed at the weekend that Barca have even tried to cancel the contracts of Samuel Umtiti and Miralem Pjanic, while Philippe Coutinho's asking price has apparently been slashed to £20m.

To make matters worse for Ronald Koeman's side, they are still in the process of trying to persuade star man Lionel Messi - who is now officially a free agent - to sign a new deal.
