Mesut Ozil is reportedly unlikely to be recalled to the Arsenal squad next month, and the playmaker is set to start seeking out his next career move in January.

Arsenal outcast Mesut Ozil will not be recalled to the Gunners squad by Mikel Arteta in January, according to a report.

The ex-Germany international continues to watch on from home after being left out of Arsenal's Premier League and Europa League squads at the start of the season.

With creativity through the middle being a glaring problem for Arsenal this term, Ozil has been tipped to return to the fold in January as he enters the final six months of his Gunners deal.

However, inews claim that Ozil will not be considered for a recall to the squad next month, meaning that he has played his final game in red and white.

As a result, the report suggests that the playmaker will look to start negotiating with other clubs from January onwards, with the MLS thought to be his preferred destination despite interest from Germany, Italy, Turkey and Qatar.

Ozil has scored 44 goals and set up 77 more for the Gunners since arriving from Real Madrid in 2013, with his most recent appearance coming in Arsenal's 1-0 win over West Ham United nine months ago.
