How Arsenal could line up against Aston Villa

Sports Mole looks at how Arsenal could line up for Sunday's Premier League encounter against Aston Villa.

Arsenal welcome Aston Villa to the Emirates Stadium on Sunday evening looking to improve on ninth position in the Premier League standings.

Having endured a difficult start to the campaign, last weekend's 1-0 victory at Manchester United took the Gunners to within four points of top spot.

However, with Mikel Arteta having to cope with a hectic schedule, his starting XI for the showdown with Villa is far from a foregone conclusion.

Here, Sports Mole takes a look at how the North London outfit could line up for their final match before the November international break.

Given his side's hard-earned triumph at Old Trafford, Arteta may opt to retain the same 11 players which started the game at The Theatre Of Dreams.

However, the Spaniard could take the chance to recall David Luiz, who made a successful return from a thigh injury against Molde on Thursday night.

With Willian having failed to make an impact since the opening weekend of the season, Nicolas Pepe will feel that he deserves an opportunity in this contest.

As a result of Granit Xhaka remaining as an unused substitute against United, it would come as a surprise if the Switzerland international is preferred to Mohamed Elneny.

Despite the successful use of a 3-4-3 formation last weekend, Arteta will likely consider a switch to a 4-2-3-1 to match their opponents.

That would see Kieran Tierney move out to left-back, with Rob Holding and Shkodran Mustafi left to fight it out with Luiz for the second central role alongside Gabriel Magalhaes.
