Sunday's FA Cup predictions including Arsenal vs. Liverpool

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's FA Cup fixtures, including Arsenal vs. Liverpool.

Luton vs. Bolton (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Premier League outfit Luton Town will have home advantage in their FA Cup third-round contest with League One team Bolton Wanderers on Sunday afternoon.

Luton will enter the contest off the back of a 3-2 defeat to Chelsea in England's top flight, while Bolton were 1-0 winners over Burton Albion in their last match in the third tier.

We say: Luton Town 2-1 Bolton Wanderers

Bolton will be eyeing a Premier League scalp on Sunday, and it would not be a huge shock if they were able to pick up the victory. Luton have caused a number of big teams problems at home this season, though, and we are expecting the Hatters to secure their spot in the fourth round courtesy of a narrow success.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Shrewsbury vs. Wrexham (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Wrexham will be bidding to book their spot in the fourth round of the FA Cup when they head to League One outfit Shrewsbury Town on Sunday afternoon.

The visitors are flying high in League Two, sitting third in the division, just two points off leaders Stockport County, while Shrewsbury are 13th in the League One table.

We say: Shrewsbury Town 1-2 Wrexham

Shrewsbury play a league higher than Wrexham and will also have home advantage on Sunday, but we fancy the Welsh outfit to triumph here. Wrexham have so much quality in the forward positions, and Parkinson's team will fancy their chances of advancing to the fourth round of the tournament.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

West Ham vs. Bristol City (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Aiming to avoid a second knockout exit within the space of a month, West Ham United welcome Bristol City to the London Stadium for Sunday's FA Cup third-round scrap.

The Hammers' opening fixture of 2024 ended in a 0-0 Premier League draw with Brighton & Hove Albion, while the Robins fell to a 1-0 Championship loss to Millwall last time out.

We say: West Ham United 2-0 Bristol City

No Premier League outfit is immune from the odd FA Cup shock, but with West Ham producing a string of exemplary defensive performances in recent matches, Moyes's men should experience little trouble en route to the fourth round.

Bristol City's failure to make the net bulge against Millwall means it is now back-to-back games without scoring for the Robins, who have not beaten the Irons since 1978 and should be kept waiting for their next such success.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

West Brom vs. Aldershot (Sunday, 2.00pm)

West Bromwich Albion will aim to secure their position in the fourth round of the FA Cup when they welcome Aldershot Town to the Hawthorns on Sunday afternoon.

The home side will enter the match off the back of a 1-0 defeat to Swansea City in the Championship, while Aldershot were 3-2 winners over Woking in their last fixture in the National League.

We say: West Bromwich Albion 2-0 Aldershot Town

Aldershot have beaten two League Two sides in this season's competition, but the step-up in class here will be big, and we are expecting West Brom to have too much quality for their National League opponents in Sunday's third-round contest in the FA Cup.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

Peterborough vs. Leeds (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Leeds United's Crysencio Summerville celebrates scoring their first goal with teammates on December 16, 2023© Reuters

Leeds United will be aiming to secure their spot in the fourth round of the FA Cup when they make the trip to London Road on Sunday afternoon to tackle Peterborough United.

The visitors will enter the match off the back of a 3-0 win over Birmingham City in the Championship, while Peterborough beat Derby County 3-2 in their last fixture in League One.

We say: Peterborough United 2-3 Leeds United

A bit of a bold prediction in terms of the scoreline, but we just fancy goals in this contest, with Leeds just coming out on top. Peterborough have so much quality in the advanced areas, and the same can also be said for Leeds, even if Farke, as is expected, rests some important players.

Our tipster partners are predicting an away win.

Nott'm Forest vs. Blackpool (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Nottingham Forest's Nicolas Dominguez celebrates scoring their first goal on December 30, 2023© Reuters

Exactly 365 days on from locking horns in the third round of the 2022-23 FA Cup, Nottingham Forest and Blackpool renew hostilities at the same stage of the 2023-24 edition at the City Ground on Sunday.

While Nuno Espirito Santo's Tricky Trees enter the FA Cup at this stage, their League One foes have already bested Bromley and Forest Green Rovers to set up back-to-back third-round meetings with their hosts.

We say: Nottingham Forest 2-0 Blackpool

Sunday's visitors may possess extremely fond memories of their most recent clash against Nottingham Forest, but under Santo at the City Ground, the Tricky Trees should be a different proposition entirely.

Given the Tangerines' recent struggles away from Bloomfield Road, we anticipate Critchley's men falling short against their top-tier hosts, who may have vengeance on their minds too.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

Man City vs. Huddersfield (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Manchester City's Rodri celebrates scoring against Sheffield United on December 30, 2023© Reuters

FA Cup holders Manchester City commence the defence of their title on Sunday afternoon, when Championship strugglers Huddersfield Town travel to the Etihad for a third-round tie.

Pep Guardiola's men begin their latest quest for domestic glory on the back of a four-game winning streak, while the Terriers have lost their last two matches in the second tier.

We say: Manchester City 5-0 Huddersfield Town

Even with Haaland sidelined and Guardiola sure to make changes in abundance, keeping the scoreline down will be Huddersfield's overriding goal at the Etihad, where no surprises should be sprung on Sunday.

With the Terriers struggling to perform and also heading to the European champions' turf with a lengthy absentee list, Man City's winning streak ought to continue as they breeze into the fourth round.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 3.5 goals.

Arsenal vs. Liverpool (Sunday, 4.30pm)

With the Premier League title race on hold for a short while, Arsenal and Liverpool will instead battle it out for a place in round four of the FA Cup at the Emirates on Sunday afternoon.

The Gunners brought 2023 to a close with a deserved 2-1 loss away to Fulham, one day before the rampant Reds extended their lead at the top of the table with a 4-2 win over Newcastle United.

We say: Arsenal 1-1 Liverpool

As ineffective as Arsenal have been in the final third of late, it will be fascinating to see how Liverpool cope offensively in the absence of Salah, while Endo's absence and Szoboszlai's injury will also deprive the Reds of some of their midfield bite.

We would side with a full-strength Liverpool unit to nick a win at the Emirates this weekend, but having lost a simply irreplaceable attacker, Klopp's side may be held to a draw by an Arsenal team aiming to right a few wrongs, leading to the replay which neither manager wanted.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.
