Real Madrid Castilla end winless run

Goals from Jose Rodriguez and Omar Mascarell in the second half pave the way for Real Madrid Castilla's first victory of the year against Alcorcon.

Second-half goals from Jose Rodriguez and Omar Mascarell have guided Real Madrid Castilla to their first victory in four games.

After a goalless opening 45 minutes, Castilla finally made the breakthrough through 19-year-old Rodriguez just short of the hour mark, with the midfielder finding the back of the net to put the away side on course for their seventh win of the season.

Mascarell doubled Castilla's lead with less than 10 minutes remaining to end any Alcorcon hopes of a comeback against the division's bottom side.

Despite picking up three points, Manolo Diaz's men remain rooted to the foot of the table.
