Dundee United earn opening-weekend win at Aberdeen

Dundee United record a resounding 3-0 win at Aberdeen to get their Scottish Premiership campaign off to a victorious start.

Dundee United have started their Scottish Premiership campaign with resounding 3-0 win at Aberdeen.

The visitors opened the scoring on 29 minutes when Ryan Dow took advantage of a poor back-pass from Ashton Taylor before slotting into the net.

United extended their lead on the stroke of half time as Gary Mackay-Steven fired home after being put clear of the Dons defence.

Dundee then sealed the points in the final seconds when Chris Erskine found the net from 12 yards following a quick break.

Jackie McNamara's side continue their league campaign on Wednesday at home to Motherwell, while Aberdeen travel to Kilmarnock.
