England trudge to innings total of 154-8 in final Twenty20 against Pakistan

England set Pakistan 155 to win the third Twenty20 international in Sharjah following a disappointing innings.

England have posted a total of 154 in their innings against Pakistan in the final Twenty20 match in Sharjah.

James Vince guided a fightback by reaching a knock of 46 after wickets tumbled in the early overs of the contest, while Chris Woakes posted a T20 career-best of 37.

It was a disastrous start for England as Jason Roy was trapped lbw by Aamer Yamin in the first ball of the innings, while Shahid Afridi later took two in two deliveries by dismissing Joe Root (32) and Moeen Ali for a duck.

Shoaib Malik took his first wicket by bowling out Eoin Morgan, who hit 15 runs off 14 balls, and England were plunged into further danger when Jos Buttler was run out by Mohammad Rizwan for just two.

Sam Billings could only muster seven runs before being dismissed by Anwar Ali, while Vince and Woakes combined to reach the 100-run mark.

David Willey and Chris Jordan finished the game unbeaten, leaving Pakistan with 155 to win the match.
