James Vince eager to take opportunities

England batsman James Vince admits that he is desperate to capitalise on opportunities ahead of next year's World Twenty20.

England batsman James Vince has revealed his determination to continue capitalising on opportunities ahead of next year's World Twenty20.

The Hampshire captain scored 41 and 38 in his first two appearances for England in the format to help his side to a 2-0 series lead over Pakistan ahead of Monday's final match in Sharjah.

With the tournament in India getting underway in March, Vince admits that he is feeling the pressure to impress as he looks to secure a spot in the side.

"It has been a good start," he told BBC Sport. "It's nice guys that are waiting in the wings are able to perform as well.

"With only one Twenty20 against New Zealand and Australia last summer there hasn't been a huge amount of opportunity, but to come out here and get given a go was really pleasing.

"That would be a great thing to be involved in, fingers crossed that I can carry on contributing and help England to win some games."

Vince top-scored in the T20 Blast with 710 runs in 16 innings for Hampshire in the summer.
