Men's snowboard cross seeding event cancelled due to thick fog

Snowboard finalists decided on rankings

The 1/8 finalists for the men's snowboard cross will be decided by world rankings after heavy fog caused the qualifying rounds to be cancelled.

The fog, which had originally delayed the start of the men's 15km biathlon, has still not cleared today, and the event organisers have decided to cancel the seeding events of the men's snowboard cross.

An official statement by the FIS Race Director, Uwe Beler, said: "Due to fog, the seeding phase of the men's snowboard cross is cancelled.

"The athletes will be seeded to the 1/8 finals based on the FIS Rank in the current FIS points list.

"The scheduled start time for the finals remains 1.30pm (9.30am GMT)."

The competition will go straight into the knockout phase at 6.30am GMT on Tuesday.
