Finland men win cross-country team sprint gold

Finland's Iivo Niskanen and Sami Jauhojaervi have won gold in the men's cross-country team sprint at the Winter Olympics.

The pair narrowly edged hosts Russian Federation into the silver medal spot with a time of 23:14.89, which was 0.97 seconds faster than the Russians.

Germany were in the lead during the closing stages, but Tim Tscharnke fell on the final sprint after a clash with Jauhojaervi.

Sweden's pair of Emil Joensson and Teodor Peterson took bronze as they finished 15.12 seconds behind the leaders, while Germany finished seventh.
