Eva Samkova wins snowboard cross gold

Czech Republic snowboarder Eva Samkova has won the women's cross event, claiming her country's first gold medal of the Sochi Games.

The 20-year-old, who also won her quarter-final and semi-final, came out on top at the Rosa Khutor Extreme Park in a dominant display.

Dominique Maltias of Canada took the silver medal, while bronze went to France's Chloe Trespeuch.

Great Britain's Zoe Gillings finished fourth in her semi-final and was edged out by Michaela Moiolo for a spot in the final.
