Alex Bilodeau to enjoy "great retirement" after retaining moguls gold

Bilodeau to enjoy "great retirement"

Canada freestyle skier Alex Bilodeau has declared that he can enjoy "a great retirement" after coming first in the men's moguls at the Sochi Winter Olympics.

The 26-year-old retained his gold medal after getting a score of 26.31 in the event, defeating his closest rival and compatriot Mikael Kingsbury, who secured a score of 24.71.

"It's a great feeling, but first I need to thank my colleagues," Bilodeau told reporters.

"I was the third to go, there were two other Canadians after me, and every day they push me hard I training. That's why I'm the best skier I've ever been right now.

"The guy who finished second (Kingsbury) is going to win everything after I have gone. I'm glad to finish my last Olympics like this. It's going to be a great retirement."

Alexander Smyshlyaev of the Russian Federation secured the bronze medal at the Rosa Khutor Extreme Park.
