Tsuper wins women's aerials for Belarus

Belarusian Alla Tsuper has won the women's aerials title at the Winter Olympics in Sochi.

It is Belarus's second gold medal of Friday following Darya Domracheva's victory in the women's 15km individual biathlon.

In an event in which the athletes hit giant jumps at speeds of up to 60kmph and are propelled 20m into the air, Tsuper impressed the judges to become champion on her fifth trip to the Olympic Games.

The 34-year-old finished ahead of China's silver medallist Xu Mengtau and Australia's reigning champion from Vancouver 2010, Lydia Lassila, who had to settle for bronze.
