Anton Kushnir: "This was my dream"

Belarus freestyle skier Anton Kushnir reveals that he is elated to have won his first Olympic gold medal in the men's aerials in Sochi.

Belarus freestyle skier Anton Kushnir has revealed that it was a "dream" for him to win gold for his country in the men's aerials on Monday.

The 29-year-old secured his victory with a score of 134.50, which was well ahead of any of his rivals in the event, as Australia's David Morris and China's Jia Zongyang finished in second and third place respectively.

"This was my dream from childhood and I'm really happy I was able to achieve it," Kushnir told BBC Sport.

"From the start the plan was to do that jump in the super final. We've been preparing it for a long time, since 2009. I thought it might go well and it did."

Kushnir's gold medal win was Belarus's fifth of the 2014 Winter Olympics.
