David Morris to carry Australian flag at Sochi closing ceremony

Aerial skiing silver medallist David Morris has been confirmed as Team Australia's flagbearer for tonight's closing ceremony at the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi.

The 29-year-old was offered the position by chef de mission Ian Chesterman on Saturday.

"It's a privilege, I've always dreamed of this. It's awesome," Morris told reporters. "To be selected to represent the team and what we stand for is just amazing."

Australia are currently 23rd in the overall medals table in Sochi.
