Heather Watson: I need to be more "aggressive"

Heather Watson admits that she needs to become more "aggressive" with her play in the second round of Wimbledon following her victory over Caroline Garcia.

Heather Watson has confessed that she has to become more "aggressive" with her play in her next match at Wimbledon.

The 23-year-old was forced to dig deep to beat Caroline Garcia after the encounter was delayed on Monday due to bad light.

Play resumed on Tuesday with the scores tied at one set each, and Watson earned the chance to serve for the match, but the Frenchwoman battled back to tie at 6-6.

However, the Briton regained her composure to secure the victory and take the third set 8-6, although she was not entirely satisfied with her performance.

"I was getting quite tired because she was pushing me wide. I feel fit and healthy, but I think I need to work on being more aggressive," Watson told BBC Sport.

Watson will face Daniela Hantuchova in round two of the competition.
