Heather Watson: 'Bring on Serena Williams'

Heather Watson admits that she hopes to face 20-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams in the next round at Wimbledon.

Heather Watson has insisted that she is relishing a potential third-round Wimbledon clash with 20-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams.

The British number one sailed into the next stage by beating Daniela Hantuchova 6-4 6-2 to set up a potential clash with her American counterpart, whom she has never faced.

Having already won the Australian and French Open this year, Williams faces Timea Babos in a second-round match this evening hoping to keep alive her hopes of a clean sweep.

"I'm really looking forward to playing Serena," she told BBC Sport. "Obviously she's an amazing athlete, champion, competitor, everything, so it won't be easy."

Watson beat Caroline Garcia in the first round.
