Former world number one Caroline Wozniacki has progressed into the semi-finals of the US Open for a fifth time after defeating Anastasija Sevastova in straight sets at Flushing Meadows.
The Dane, who has dropped to 74th in the global rankings, sealed a 6-0 6-2 triumph after Sevastova hurt her ankle early in the contest.
The 26-year-old Latvian required treatment after falling awkwardly during the second game, but she managed to continue with heavy strapping on her ankle.
Wozniacki dominated the court, though, as she ripped through the first set in 32 minutes, and despite Sevastova trying to hold her own after going 3-0 down in the second, it was not enough to force a comeback.
The two-time finalist will fight Angelique Kerber for a place in the final following the German's straight-sets win over last year's finalist Roberta Vinci.
