Wawrinka eases into fourth round

Stanislas Wawrinka has made it safely through to the last 16 of the US Open thanks to a comfortable straight-sets victory over Alexandr Dolgopolov in New York.

The Swiss broke once to take the opening set 6-4 before doing the same again in the second to take control of the match.

After breaking the Ukrainian instantly in the third, the 18th seed converted a break point at the ninth time of asking to take a 4-0 lead.

He then saw out the match 6-2 to set up a fourth-round encounter with defending champion Novak Djokovic.
