World number one Caroline Wozniacki saw off Holland's Arantxa Rus in straight sets 6-2 6-0 to make it into the US Open third round draw.

After an exchange of breaks, the Dane found her rhythm to take the first set 6-2.

The second was no contest as Rus visibly sagged, allowing Wozniacki to win 6-0.

The victory pits her against the USA's Vania King in round three.
