Raonic eases through in New York

Milos Raonic has booked his place in round two of the US Open thanks to a straight-sets victory over Italy's Thomas Fabbiano.

The Canadian 10th seed came through the opener 6-3 before taking the second 8-6 in a tie-break.

A decisive break then allowed the 22-year-old to close out the match 6-3 against the world number 176.

Waiting for Raonic in the next round will be either Spain's Pablo Andujar or Dutchman Thiemo de Bakker.
