Sara Errani has booked her place in the semi-finals of the US Open thanks to a straight-sets victory over fellow Italian Roberta Vinci.
Errani was dominant in the opening set and it took her just 37 minutes to claim it 6-2 against her doubles partner.
Both players struggled to hold serve at the start of the second but it was the world number 10 who eventually came through 6-4.
Errani, who has reached her second Grand Slam semi-final of the year following her run to the final of the French Open, will now meet either Serena Williams or Ana Ivanovic.
