Sara Errani crushes Vera Dushevina in second round

Italian Sara Errani thrashed Vera Dushevina in straight sets to book her place in the third round of the US Open.

The 10th seed was in imperious form from the outset and took the first set without dropping a game.

There was no let up for the Russian as Errani wrapped up the match in 48 minutes 6-0 6-1.

Errani will now play either Kiki Bertens or Olga Puchkova in the third round at Flushing Meadows.
