Aljaz Bedene exits US Open after Donald Young defeat

Donald Young defeats Aljaz Bedene 3-6 6-4 6-4 6-2 in the second round of the US Open.

Brit Aljaz Bedene has been knocked out in the second round of the US Open by American Donald Young.

Young took an early lead in the first set, but Bedene broke straight back. The Brit then won four games in a row to take the set 6-3.

Seven out of 10 games in the second set were won by the returner. Bedene won three out of three break points, but it was Young who took the set 6-4 after holding serve in the final game.

The American took the lead after set three when Bedene lost two successive service games. He successfully defended a set point in game 10 but Young took the set at the second attempt, with a score of 6-4.

Bedene again struggled to hold his serve in set four, and lost five games in a row as Young won the match 3-6 6-4 6-4 6-2.
