Serena Williams has received a $2,000 (£1,264) fine for her outburst in Sunday's US Open final.
The 29-year-old verbally abused Greek umpire Eva Asderaki during her 6-2 6-3 defeat to Australian Sam Stosur.
A statement released on Monday by the United States Tennis Association read: "US Open tournament referee Brian Earley has fined Serena Williams 2,000 US dollars following the code violation issued for verbal abuse during the women's singles final."
Williams was battling to hang onto her serve at the start of the second set and thought she had saved a second break point when she let out a huge cry of "come on".
But the ball had not yet reached Stosur and, under grand slam rules, a deliberate hindrance, such as an intentional shout during a point, sees the player lose the point.
The American has previous disciplinary issues, having been fined £53,000 and put on a probationary period at the four major championships in 2010 and 2011 after she verbally abused an official over a foot-fault call in her semi-final defeat by Kim Clijsters at the 2009 US Open.
