Andrea Petkovic: 'Fans inspired comeback'

Andrea Petkovic thanked the Flushing Meadows crowd for her second-round comeback against China's Zheng Jie in the US Open.

The German was a set down and losing 3-0 in the second before winning 3-6 6-3 6-3 to book a third-round berth.

"It was the comeback, it was the energy of the audience," she said. "I think they really brought me back into the match."

The 23-year-old faces Italy's Roberta Vinci in the next round.
