Laura Robson out of US Open

Great Britain's Laura Robson has been knocked out of the US Open at the second round stage by Anabel Medina Garrigues.

Despite hitting 20 winners compared to her Spanish opponent's nine, Robson lost in straight sets 6-2 6-3.

World number 30 Garrigues will now take on either Kateryna Bondarenko or Vera Zvonareva in the third round at Flushing Meadows.
