Victoria Azarenka suffering from blisters on arms

Victoria Azarenka has revealed that she had to wear bandages on her arms for her fourth-round match at the US Open after her outfit left her with blisters.

The former world number one had large dressings on both biceps throughout her straight-sets win over Varvara Lepchenko to reach the quarter-finals at Flushing Meadows for the first time since 2012.

The Belarusian said in her on-court interview: "I got blisters from rubbing against my shirt. It's a little embarrassing."

Azarenka faces second seed Simona Halep in the last eight.
