Feliciano Lopez replaces the injured Rafael Nadal in Spain's Olympic squad.

World number 29 Feliciano Lopez has replaced the injured Rafael Nadal in Spain's Olympic tennis team.

Nadal was forced to withdraw from the London Games on Thursday due to a persistent knee problem.

Lopez will now play in the men's singles while Marc Lopez will take Nadal's place in the men's doubles to team up with Marcel Granollers.

Basketball player Pau Gasol has also been selected to carry Spain's flag in the opening ceremony, an honour that Nadal had been scheduled to perform.
