Jo-Wilfried Tsonga ousts Nicolas Almagro in straight sets to make it into the quarter-finals of the Paris Masters.

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga has beaten Nicolas Almagro in straight sets to make it through to the quarter-finals of the Paris Masters.

The win has seen the French sixth seed book his place at next week's ATP World Tour Finals in London.

Home favourite Tsonga staved off two break points in the opening set before taking it 7-4 in the tie-break.

It took another tie-break to determine the second and the 27-year-old came through 7-3 to reach the last eight of the tournament.
