Jo-Wilfried Tsonga has said that taking part in a record-breaking match is the only way to get his name in the history books.
The Frenchman and Milos Raonic of Canada played out the longest match in Olympic tennis history as Tsonga came through in the third and final set 25-23 at a match time of three hours, 58 minutes.
Speaking of the record, Tsonga said: "For me it's good because this is the only way to write my name in the history for the moment.
"With Rafa, Roger and Novak, even Andy, it's tough to go through big tournaments. So I'm really happy. I hope I will have some more."
The Frenchman is in action again in the third round today against Feliciano Lopez of Spain at around 1.30pm.
