Nick Kyrgios accepts being left out of Australian Davis Cup team

Nick Kyrgios accepts being left out of the Australia Davis Cup team and says that this may be in the best interests of his career.

Nick Kyrgios has insisted that he accepts the decision to leave him out of the Australian Davis Cup team.

The 20-year-old was dropped due to his recent bad behaviour and poor form following the US Open.

However, Kyrgios admits that the decision will have been the best for his career.

"I thought it was the best decision for me to give this one a miss," Kyrgios is quoted as saying by Club Call.

"Obviously a lot had been going on and I thought there is no rush. I feel we've got a lot of depth, we've got a lot of great players to go over there and represent our country.

"It's a bit unfortunate I'm not playing, but at the same time it's the best decision for my career at the moment."

Australia are tied 1-1 with Great Britain after day one of the Davis Cup semi-final in Glasgow.
