Venus Williams: "Ultimate champion" Serena inspires me

Venus Williams pays tribute to "ultimate champion" sister Serena Williams, who she claims helped her get through this morning's last-16 meeting with Agnieszka Radwanska.

Venus Williams has revealed that the success of sister Serena helped inspire her to progress through to the quarter-finals of the Australian Open.

The 18th seed secured her place in the last eight of a Grand Slam event for the first time since 2010 with a battling 6-3 2-6 6-1 victory over Agnieszka Radwanska this morning.

After securing her passage into the next round, Williams admitted that world number one Serena's continued success at the highest level pushes her on to succeed.

Asked about her inspirations, Venus replied: "Definitely my sister Serena, she's just the ultimate champion. And definitely a lot of inspiration from all my fans who have stayed behind me through thick and thin."

Williams will face fellow American Madison Keys in the next round.
