Wales are boosted as Jamie Roberts returns from injury one month ahead of schedule.

Cardiff Blues centre Jamie Roberts's early return from injury has given Wales a boost ahead of the autumn internationals.

Roberts has been recovering from knee surgery and is now expected to be fit for Monday's Pro12 fixture against the Newport Gwent Dragons.

"Jamie will be available from selection from next Monday," confirmed Phil Davies, director of rugby for the Blues.

"He has worked incredibly hard with the medical staff and we have a new piece of equipment that is helping the injured players return."

Roberts was scheduled to make his comeback in October.
