Scotland announces its 30-man squad for next month's Rugby World Cup.

Alastair Kellock will lead Scotland at next month's Rugby World Cup.

Head coach Andy Robinson appointed the 30-year-old as captain as he unveiled his 30-man squad for the tournament, which begins in New Zealand on September 9.

Kellock, who won his 34th cap at the weekend, is one of 12 newcomers to the country's Rugby World Cup squad.

"I want to pay tribute to the dedicated and professional approach of all those in our provisional squad," said Robinson in Edinburgh this morning. "Eight players have been unfortunate to miss out from that squad but that is because of the talent we have been able to assemble in our final 30."

Kellock added: "I intend to do my utmost to reward the coaches’ faith in me and make the country proud by what we achieve in New Zealand."
