Richie McCaw yet to make retirement decision

New Zealand captain Richie McCaw insists that he is yet to make a final decision on his future with the international side.

Richie McCaw has insisted that he has not yet made the decision to retire from internationals after this year's Rugby World Cup.

It had been expected that the New Zealand captain would announce his retirement after the 2015 tournament, with last month's 41-13 win over Australia in Auckland billed as his final match on home soil.

"I haven't made a final decision yet although I've given a reasonably strong hint. Whether I play much more past this year is pretty debatable," BBC Sport quotes the 34-year-old as saying.

"The reason I haven't [made an announcement] is I really wanted to play in this tournament, like you would any other year as if you were going to play on.

"With the door still being open, that decision is going to be made later. But I want to make sure that when I turn up for training, I train to be better than I was the week before."

McCaw holds the record as the most-capped international, making 142 appearances for the All Blacks since his 2001 debut.
