Italy coach Jacques Brunel "not happy" despite win over Canada

Italy coach Jacques Brunel says that he was "not happy" with his side's performance, despite picking up their first win in seven months against Canada.

Italy coach Jacques Brunel has revealed that he was "not happy" with his side's performance against Canada, despite the fact that they came from 10 points down to record their first Test victory in seven months.

Italy became the first team to overhaul a double-digit deficit in a World Cup match for eight years, winning 23-18 at Elland Road in Leeds, but Brunel was not satisfied with the way Canada "dictated" the match.

"I'm not happy with how we set up the match," Brunel told reporters. "The Canadians, particularly on the wing, played really well but we never had really good ball, and they dominated. They dictated the game."

Brunel admitted that his side must improve if they are to stand a chance against Ireland in their next Pool D encounter.

He added: "If we play the same as we did today then we will go 30 points down against Ireland, we know that."

Victory today puts Italy third in Pool B with fixtures against Ireland and Romania to come.
