Australia 25-23 Wales

A stoppage-time penalty from Mike Harris saw Australia record a 25-23 win over Wales this afternoon.

The visiting Welsh got off to a good start when George North ran in the first try of the match with just four minutes on the clock. Halfpenny ensured that Wales opened up a 7-0 lead when he made the conversion.

Berrick Barnes reduced the arrears with two penalties, before Rob Horne went over two minutes before the break to put the home side in front. Barnes extended their lead further when he sent the resultant conversion between the posts.

Bradley Davies put Wales back in front four minutes after the restart when he burst through the Australian rearguard to score a try. Once again Halfpenny was on hand to score the conversion.

Barnes and Halfpenny then scored three penalties apiece as the score went to 23-22 in Wales's favour.

Aussie fly-half Barnes then had a chance to put his side back in front, but a knee injury prevented him from converting his penalty.

However, his kicking replacement Harris made no mistake with the final kick of the game to put his side 2-0 up in the series.
