Australia extend David Pocock, Kurtley Beale contracts

The Australia Rugby Union have extended the contracts of players Kurtley Beale and David Pocock.

Australia have extended the contracts of flanker David Pocock and back Kurtley Beale as the duo prepare for the Wallabies' Rugby World Cup campaign.

Pocock, 27, has re-signed with the ACT Brumbies and the Australian Rugby Union until the end of the 2016 Super Rugby season.

Beale, meanwhile, has extended his current contract with the NSW Waratahs and Australia for a further two years, meaning that his contract will end in 2017.

"I am very passionate about the Wallabies' jersey and representing this country," Pocock told the ARU's website. "We are also very fortunate to be able to do what we do, and have the honour of representing so many along the way.

"Wearing the gold jersey is the ultimate. There are some special things happening here at the Wallabies and I am really enjoying being part of this group as it continues to build its identity over the next few seasons."

Both Beale and Pocock have won over 50 caps each for Australia, while Pocock won the Asteron Life Super Rugby Player of the Year at last night's John Eales Medal awards ceremony.
